What is a good percentage to take offered by the investor?

I have an invention and an investor who wants me to take a percentage of the profits. He is an engineer and has already been successful with a product he invented. He will be fronting all of the monies. He tells me a global patent and search will cost $150,000. Is this correct? He also wants me to sign a non-disclosure agreement, should I have him sign one too? What's the difference between a provisional patent and a patent? Although we made a rough prototype, should we go ahead and have the prototype made by a professional before we obtain the patent? Any help will be most appreciated. What about focus groups? You can email me at jtprods@netzero.net
